Leading Autism Awareness for First Responders Training Company continues to Expand

Alana Williams joins Interaction Advisory Group bringing training and law enforcement experience

July 30th 2019 – Birmingham, Alabama – Interaction Advisory Group (IAG) today announced that Alana Williams has joined the company as a new trainer of its autism awareness and other developmental disabilities communication program for first responders. Founded in 2015, IAG has trained thousands of first responders across the Southern US including a recent training at Maxwell Air Force Base.

Alana has over 10 years of experience in the criminal justice system, specializing in law enforcement and investigations. In 2009, Alana earned her APOSTC (Alabama Peace Officer’s Standards and Training Commission) Certification through Montgomery Police Academy (Alabama).

In addition to serving her community as a deputy sheriff and police officer, Alana has been a collegiate criminal justice instructor at her alma mater, Alabama State University, since 2013. Alana also possess an Instructor Development Certification from the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation). Alana’s educational background consists of a M.S. in Criminal Justice from Faulkner University and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Alabama State University. Alana is a mother of one child, James, who is autistic, and she enjoys family time and traveling with her son.

IAG’s in person training complements their REACT (Recognition and Evaluation of Autism Contact Training) online training which was developed in partnership with University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Health Professions last year. REACT was designed by UAB professors, academic instructional design specialists, law enforcement experts and authorities in areas of special needs,
